About

With Data Analytics to new Connected Home energy concepts

About the event

  • At ConnHack 2018 you have the opportunity to network and interact with companies, professionals and students to jointly  develop digital innovations for the connected life of the future. Based on Design Thinking method, you work on data sets of real Smart Home, IoT and energy data in groups up to four people.
  • The ConnHack is a joint event of SAP and the Innovation Center Connected Living.
  • You are interested in the topics digital connected life, Smart Home, energy management and data analytics and enjoy “new thinking approaches”? At ConnHack 2018 you have the chance to prove your creativity and analytical skills.

Goals of ConnHack 2018

  • The goal of ConnHack is to develop new data-based services, use-cases and monetization approaches from a real data set. Based on the existing data, you have the opportunity to work on your ideas for innovative software solutions and evaluate their feasibility (Proof-of-Concept).
  • Added values result from new and previously non-existent combinations of data sets from different companies and new analysis opportunities.
  • At the end of the Hackathon your developed prototype should show how your idea can be realized by using the available data. Of course, the visualization of your idea is also important!
  • The teams with the best ideas can await a range of great prizes. In addition you have the chance to further develop your ideas together with the companies after the event.

Challenges

How can the generation (e.g. PV-system), storage (e.g. battery) and consumption (e.g. washing machine) of energy in Smart Homes be optimally controlled?

What kind of new business models and services can be developed on the basis of the available data (e.g. Predictive Maintenance)?

How can a pattern recognition of the resident behavior be derived by using power consumption data?

What kind of new data combinations and which other freely available data (e.g. weather data) can be used to generate added value?
